My Iron Lungs

I know I have been M.I.A for quite a long time. I’ve been busy. Busy with life. Busy with things.

So I guess only after almost two solid months here in Gombak that I feel the need to write something about my current life. It’s not like I’m Hannah Montana who lives a double life.

I’d like to think of my degree life as a phase. The first few weeks that I’ve been here was already a living hell. Luckily, things are getting better now. Luck; such a strong word.

Being in uni made me realize that there’s actually more to life than just going to class and hanging out with friends. Things are different here, even when you go to class, the lecturer could give you enough to open your eyes to a new perspective. Apart from that, we’re all grownups here and any decisions that we make, we have to bear with the consequences ourselves.  So there’s that. So for this semester, I’m taking Political Science and I’ve had people telling me that I’m loco for choosing Poli Sc as a minor. Well, if I want my life to be easy I would not have come here in the first place. I did not regret anything. I like going to class because my lecturer shares current world issues with us like its folklore or a bedtime story. I will post something but in the meantime, I’ll just talk about my feelings and emotions because that’s what girls do best. Other than that, I’m also taking a public speaking class. I have issues when it comes to giving a speech, I tend to talk way too much and then forget my conclusion and I’ll just go with “Yeap, that’s that”. I know, I suck. That’s why I’m here doing whatever it is that I’m doing, I want to get better, and I want to be good at something.

Now things are starting to pile up. Mid terms are just around the corner, submission dates for my assignments are pulling closer and instead of gearing up for it, here I am sulking about how life sucks blablabla. But truth be told, I do find great comfort in writing. Whenever I feel overwhelmed with my surroundings, I would take out a book and pen and start writing or I will just start typing things onto Microsoft Word.
