So yesterday I had to sit for four hours in a cold ass classroom for Political Science. Class was okay because there were only a few of us that decided to come for the last class to either present on the essay that we did or just attend the class because they had nothing to do. So my presentation was the longest I guess because madam was explaining and sharing stories about the cartels and how they manipulate the Miss World's results. I talked a bit about Pablo Nescobar and a kind lad pointed out the movie Blow in which Johnny Depp had portrayed Pablo himself. It was madam who did most of the talking and I just stood there and nodding my head to every word she was saying just because I love to hear her voice ( mind you not in a creepy kind of way) and mostly the stories that she was telling us were true. Everyone else did a good job as well, I loved how one of my classmates talked about "Cocacolonization" and "Mcdonaldization", that was straight up cool as hell because those words do not come up in daily speech context. The only guy who stayed till our class ends or as I would like to call him "The Last Man Standing", also gave a really good speech on the Islamic state. It was very thorough and I gained a lot. Then there was this guy who talked about the political system in Malaysia. It was interesting to hear his opinion. However, when madam asked him about his opinion on the current issue in Malaysia, he had no clue. In a way, it proved that the government is still facing problem in reaching out to the youth. Sometimes, it is not about getting people on your side, what's important is that people know what you're doing and the reasons to why you're doing that. I am upset with all the things that are happening economically. I don't know much and that is my problem. But I'd like to believe that they have a specific reason, a reason that benefits all behind all these. The other day they held a talk on the layout of Budget 2014, but I couldn't go, boohoo, but a girl from my debate class attended the talk and she was telling us about how by cutting the sugar subsidies, it could help improve the economy or some sort, I can't remember. So it gave me something to think about, to weigh things out, to find the answer to what is happening and why it is happening. Wait, where was I again? Haha. Back to the story, after class ended, we had the optional-but-most-students-do-it-anyways photo session with madam. Blablablablabla. Then I went to do some grocery shopping for mom and met the cutest kid ever, and courteous as well. I was excited when the kid said "thank you" because nowadays, it is very rare to hear people saying thank you when there's actually plenty of things to be thankful about. My mood immediately changed when I scratched my car because a jerk had blocked my way and I was trying to avoid from scratching his car. Hurr durr.
I was actually going to write about what happened today but laziness is starting to creep up behind me. Best I keep things short HAH. So after doing our assignments, we went out to meet our friend and he took us to the Highland Tower. Well actually we didn't really go to the area but we were hanging out near the bungalow site where the landslide happened. There were a few abandoned houses left and the place was eerie. I couldn't imagine what the neighbours felt. I mean, the people who died used to be their front door neighbours and the thing happened within a feet away from their house. Knowing the fact that you could have died too must have its own affect on people. I also saw a video in Lahad Datu where they had all the fishes moving to the shore, it wasn't a few, it was a lot. Everywhere in the world, people are suffering due to the weather. It's bad that you have to deal with nature but it's worst when you have war going on like they had in Egypt.
May Allah protects us all. Ameen ya rabbal alamin.
